"Treatment" for Violent Sex Offenders?
Three violent youth sex offenders escaped from an Arkansas "treatment" facility Thursday night. According to a representative from the state Department of Health and Human Services, the three were "in for sexual assault and rape charges," so they consider them "violent offenders." The violent predators also took three unidentified girls with them.
One simple, yet glaring question: Why were they not in a detention center? Because far too many people think that sexual predators should be "treated" instead of punished and locked up. Treatment? Certainly, while they are incarcerated.
This is absolutely pathetic, and demonstrates that the state of Arkansas is failing in their efforts to protect their own residents from violent sexual predators. Judges who give convicted offenders a "stern talking to," and sentence them to "treatment," should be removed.
