Online teen modeling agencies- soft porn distributors?
Child modeling agencies are all over the internet. Skirting the edge of the law, some feature very young children in very little clothing, posing in provocative positions. There are girls as young as 6 years old wearing thongs and very little else.
Does this mean child porn is disguising itself as teen modeling sites? You betcha.
Do these sites attract pedophiles? Most definitely.
These sites are often based overseas and some link to hard core porn sites.
The FBI says some child modeling sites are not only dangerous, but they are hunting grounds for pedophiles.
These so-called "modeling" sites have names like “Little Nymphets”, “XXX Preteens”, and “Play Angel”.
Children can be lured into the world of modeling by predators. 41 year old Gerald Lee Wheeler was arrested for doing just that. He convinced a 13 year old girl that he was a modeling agent and to send him provocative pictures of herself.
He was trying to get her to meet him in New York to exchange sex for a modeling career when her father, acting on instinct, installed monitoring software on the computer. The father contacted police to report that his daughter had received obscene messages on the computer.
The good news: The girl’s father most likely saved her life. Wheeler is a registered sex offender in Utah. He was convicted on Jan. 28, 1994, of attempted forcible sexual abuse involving an underage girl. He pleaded guilty March 26 to one count of production of child pornography, which carries a mandatory 15-year minimum sentence. He was sentenced to 17 ½ years in federal prison in Utah for persuading the girl to send him sexually explicit photos of herself during three months of cyberspace chats and phone calls.
