Blogspot/LiveJournal - A Haven for Pedophiles

We have found that two very popular internet services, Google’s blogging service, blogspot.com/blogger.com, and Live Journal (LiveJournal.com) openly accept pedophiles as users. These pedophiles not only talk about their lust for children, they even openly encourage child rape and describe ways to avoid detection. Many also post pictures of children on their sites. These pedophile sites clearly violate the Terms of Service (TOS) agreements.

Both Blogger and LiveJournal have been contacted numerous times about this issue. Neither of these companies is willing to remove these offensive and dangerous pedophile blogs.

LiveJournal has removed a few sites, but will only do so to sites that advocate illegal activity. LiveJournal goes on to say that they “are not the thought police” and they will make no attempt to regulate the websites they host. The problem with this is that the more insidious pedophiles are clever enough not to say anything too Black and White.

“For instance -- as disgusting as it might be -- we can't suspend a journal because it's talking about pedophilia in a theoretical manner, or is discussing it hypothetically, fictionally, or sociologically. We also can't suspend a journal just because someone expresses an interest in children in a sexual manner. We're limited to taking action on things that specifically break the law or encourage others to do so.”

“We draw a clear line between protected speech and illegal activity, and we won't remove anything that doesn't cross those lines.”

LiveJournal is clearly not enforcing their own TOS which states:

"You agree to NOT use the Service to:"..."Upload, post or otherwise transmit any Content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, tortuous, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, libelous, invasive to another's privacy (up to, but not excluding any address, email, phone number, or any other contact information without the written consent of the owner of such information), hateful, or racially, ethnically or otherwise objectionable;" Doesn't LiveJournal consider blogs promoting child abuse Vulgar or Obscene?
Blogger refuses to even address the issue. There are pedophiles posting web sites that promote their sick agenda. These pedophile sites at Blogger have been “flagged” as offensive and yet, they still remain online.

Blogger’s response:

“Although we host that site, we are not in a position to adjudicate whether the content is offensive or not. Accordingly, consistent with section 230(c) of the Communications Decency Act, Blogger does not remove material in response to allegations of offensive material. In cases where a contact email address is listed on the page, we recommend working directly with the author to have this information removed or changed. We are sorry we cannot assist you further at this time.

Sincerely,
The Blogger Team”

We do not post pedophile web sites here. If you would like more information, please email us and we will provide you with it. I warn you though; you will find offensive material on these sites. I also would like for you to ask yourself how you would feel if your child, niece or nephew found these sites. Blogger does not even offer age restrictions or age verifications for their sites.

We are asking for help to put pressure on both Google and LiveJournal to remove these offensive sites. All they need to do is simply uphold their own TOS that is currently in place. It is important that the public be aware of what is going on for the safety of their children.
